Telehealth

Most of us would prefer to speak with another human face-to-face, though sometimes it just ain’t possible.

Research shows that Telehealth, or 'virtual' therapy, is as effective as face-to-face support, providing ongoing help with anxiety, depression, social skills, confidence, coping with change, and family issues.

Telehealth is about using the phone or computer to connect to your healthcare provider or clinician so we can remotely manage your health care.

Therapy at home can be incredibly engaging for children, allowing them to share their interests and interact with their clinician in new ways. It can also provide a valuable opportunity for parents to be more involved and gain different strategies to use at home. One of our favourite telehealth activities to do with kiddos is a treasure hunt – parents be prepared... Items we may ask your kids to search for include their favourite teddy, a blue toy, a ball, coloured pencils and paper for drawing, a balloon, colouring in book, etc.

You will be emailed your own secure telehealth link at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled session. Please try to ensure that your computer/phone can access the link, and that you have adequate bandwidth, a stable internet connection and sufficient data to undertake the session. You may request that our office manager sets up a practice session with you a few days before your first session if you need technical support. We also offer phone consultation if you don’t want to use online delivery.
